It is often said of many musicians and entertainers that they are a bit of a 'one trick pony'..... This is a label that could never be applied to Michael Wooldridge, if ever there was a true blue 'all rounder', then this young gentleman would most definitely fit the bill. From the imposing controls of the largest cathedral organ to a keyboard rack within a pop group; Michael does it all - he does it well, too!

Bridging the gap between New York swing and European improv.

Since 1996 Partisans have been thrilling audiences with their energetic performances of tightly knit themes and groove-based sound, bridging the gap between New York swing, European improv and UK jam band. Led by Phil Robson (jazz musician of the year 2009 Parliamentary Jazz Awards) and Julian Siegel (best instrumentalist 2007 BBC Jazz Awards), and underpinned by the rock solid, freewheeling and supercharged rhythm section of Kelly and Calderazzo, Partisans are one of the most consistently inventive and original bands.

Robert Mitchell trio

Robert Mitchell

Robert Mitchell - piano
Tom Mason - bass
Richard Spaven - drums

Merging contemporary classical music with trance-like funkiness.

One of the judges for the 2010 Nottingham International Jazz Piano Competition, Robert Mitchell is a phenomenal pianist with an awesome technique and a wide range of experience across different styles of jazz. His playing is lyrical and spacious and in a trio setting this approach offers plenty of chances for other musicians to shine. Bassist Tom Mason and drummer Richard Spaven take those chances and demonstrate the 3ios strength as an ensemble. With influences from hip hop grooves and broken beats and more modern jazz, 3ios debut albumThe Greater Good was described by The Guardians John Fordham as "the best album of [Roberts] career with a pianotrio session that stretched the scope of one of the most familiar formats in jazz."
