Nicolas Meier Trio

Start 8pm

Tickets £12 / £10 (concs.) / £5 (students) / kids go free

Nicolas Meier - acoustic guitar and glissentar
Paolo Minervini - bass
Demi Garcia - percussion

Guitar jazz with flamenco and Arabic influences.

Guitarist Nicolas Meier is a popular visitor to the Bonington, usually appearing with his quartet. This time, however, he brings a trio as featured on his latest CD Breeze. Meiers style incorporates the modern idioms of John McLaughlin and Pat Metheny and mixes them with Middle Eastern and Flamenco influences.

"Meier's technique is phenomenal. Dexterous and vigorous, favoring giddily-fast fingered, serpentine single note runs, it is musicianly in the best sense of the word" All About Jazz

Brass Jaws concerts are characterised by the bands trademark momentum, drive and charisma, in a set that strongly embraces the jazz tradition whilst reaching out into the unknown towards new musical territory.

"Their consistently clever arrangements and compositions are both brilliantly conceived and succinct, with nothing outstaying its welcome" Kenny Mathieson (The Scotsman)
