The Prospect Players drama group was formed in 1973 to read and perform plays, to take an interest in all aspects of the theatre and to create and enjoy friendship among its members.
We have always taken pride in the often ambitious choice of plays performed which include such classics as J.B. Priestley's Hobson's Choice, Alan Ayckbourn's Relatively Speaking, Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, Harold Pinter's The Caretaker, Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman, George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, The Odd Couple by Neil Simon, Shakespeare's King Lear, Chekhov's The Seagull, Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas and Joe Orton's Entertaining Mr Sloane, to name but a few of the eighty or so productions since February 1973.
In addition to all the Acting, Directing, Stage managing , Lighting, Sound, Scenery building and painting etc we enjoy our selves in other ways, with regular visits to local theatres, treasure hunts, ghost walks and other social activities
If you live in or around the Arnold area and feel that you could cope with such a hectic social life, in addition to helping any one of a dozen ways with future productions, you could speak to any of our Front of House staff at a production.
Alternatively telephone our secretary on 0115 859 0213.
We look forward to hearing from you.
The Prospect Players are affiliated to N.A.N.D.A. and the G.B.A.A. and acknowledge their continued support and assistance.
