Bootleg Shadows

The Bootleg Shadows. As I am sure you can guess from the name  played all Shadows' songs and were completely and utterly amazing from start to finish, where they high-kicked their way through FBI, a la Shadows! All the dancing and great playing was there in abundance. Awesome. The Bootleg Shadows set contained many well-known songs by The Shadows, and the gentle humour between the songs just rounded the performance to perfection. Such gems as calling the lead guitarist 'Plank Marvin', and a sort of running joke that culminated in them playing the Jet Harris and Tony Meehan (ex Shadows) instrumental Diamonds, with a tremendous drum solo from Gordon Bennett. I would urge everyone to go and see The Bootleg Shadows whenever you get the chance, you will not be disappointed - I guarantee. I can't wait to see them again soon. - Jacqueline Ashby

“The Organ Trio”

Featuring Jim Mullen (gtr) Mike Gorman (organ)

          Matt Skelton (drms)

£9 concs£7 Students /children £5

Jim  Mullen has a great affinity for the organ trio in jazz, born upon some of his earlier playing experiences in his native Glasgow.

Excitingly and uniquely Jim’s band mixes elements of the old style “gospel blues”

(reminiscent ofJack McDuff and Jimmy McGriff) with a modern vocabulary and contemporary feel on the instrument.

A mixture of “tradition and transition” contemporary knowledge applied to a basic desire to swing.

“a superb and integrated band led by a guitarist at the absolute top of his game. Catch them when ever you can” Alan Barnes

Stages presents

The Steppe Brothers

It is 1194. Roughly. A travelling theatre troupe, The Steppe Brothers, are down on their luck in medieval Lithuania. Mother is dead and a chicken is missing. The brothers' fake moustaches are wearing as thin as their jokes.

Meanwhile a crusading army have been marching in the wrong direction for three months, caught between the rival claims of twin sisters for the throne of France. The duplicitous damsels need help. Both have heard tales of a death-defying duo named The Steppe Brothers. Are they one and the same as our fraternal double act? Is the Cossack knee dancing really as simple as it seems? Who will be first to discover that fact and fiction are not all they're dressed up to be?

National and international favourites Rejects Revenge

make a welcome return to the STAGES circuit with their original brand of verbal wit and visual silliness in this fast and funny new comedy.
